Friends of the Oroville Library |
The Oroville Library is currently in the process of planning for a major renovation. One of the primary tasks for the Friends group is conducting fundraising activities for this effort. Some of the design goals for this project are a lighter and more open library, better designed areas for children's books and activities, more and better organized book rack space, a cozy reading area around the fireplace, and new bathroom facilities. The fireplace project was recently completed, and consists of a new gas fireplace installed in the original fireplace opening. The brick was sandblasted down to the original red color, and a new hearth was constructed. One method of fundraising the Friends have undertaken is the sale of memorial bricks ,which will be used in constructing a path leading to the front of the library. The first order of bricks has been made, but another order will be placed in the future if we get enough orders.
